A collection of work from my masters project. I focused on studying a group of tribes in the Kachchh district of Gujarat, India.
The
main objective while working in the final stages of my masters was not only
about applying a new study to my area of practice being portraiture but also being able to
achieve a positive outcome. I focused on the application of a documentary style
called reportage in my study, which helped me set an objective and narrative to
my visual work. This helped me in broadening my thinking process, as I was
required to look at aspects that were beyond the technical principles.
This
understanding brought in the element of anthropology, which contributed to my
study of human groups. It helped give me a deeper insight into the
understanding of human behavior that is an essential part of my area of
practice. This
is a study that I am looking to carry forward in the coming future, as it is an
area that is constantly changing and developing.
